What's been going on...

It has been a busy few weeks! The kids have been out of school since the 21st and don't go ack until tomorrow! Much too long for a break... for the moms... We had a great Christmas. We spent Christmas Eve with Vicki and her family and had FHE at their house and ate lots of fun food. Christmas day the kids slept until almost 7 am (I was very impressed by that.) We had a great Christmas dinner. The day after Christmas we went to see Enchanted, which the kids really liked. Justin has been great about taking the kids out to do stuff so I can nap or do other things since I have been working in the evenings. The job is going really well, but I am giving my 2 weeks notice today because Justin is directing a play this semester and will not be home to watch the kids. But I will continue watching Vicki's kids in the evenings. Lorelai has had a couple of milestones. She is sitting up. We have tried her on a sippy cup and she does not quite get that yet. She has fed herself a cracker. She is just getting bigger by the minute! I would love to keep her little, though. She is a noisy little thing. She is constantly talking. Blah, blahing and such. She just loves her Papa. I think it has been so great for Justin to be home with her in the evenings while I am at work. They have bonded like he never did with the other kids. She sees him and just lights up! Today, Caroline and Hilton are preparing a tea party for their last day home. We are going to make brownies and tuna fish sandwiches. They are decorating the table with decorations they made yesterday. I have spent most of this vacation sleeping. I have literally been sleeping almost all day long! But last week I had a stomach flu so I had a good excuse. The rest of the time I really haven't had a great excuse. As far as books, I am currently readind Steve Martin's memoir. He is such a great writer. I read The Time Traveler's Wife for the second time. I love that book. They are making a movie out of it and I wanted to read the book again before I saw the movie. Caroline has kept busy by reading lots. She has read 3 Junie B Jones books, and a Cam Jansen book and some Amelia Bedelia books. She is a busy little reader! I am very happy about that. She loves the craft kit she got for Christmas and just spends most of the time with that. Hilton is busy playing with his light saber and multiple Star Wars toys. I am glad he plays with the stuff he got for Christmas. We did not have lots of Christmas gifts this year and I think it was wonderful because the things they got, they love and have been playing with a lot. Anyway, you are now all caught up. See, nothing exciting to report. I will try to keep posting again especially now that the kids will be back in school and I will be done working.
