Happy Birthday Lorelai!

Today is Lorelai's first birthday! She has really found her voice. Whenever she wants something or doesn't want something she screams. Just a quick, "AHHH" and then she has communicated. She has three teeth. The 2 bottom middle teeth and one fang! She is very funny looking... She got her first haircut this week. She is trying to walk. She puls herself up on furniture and walls and walks all over the house. She has tumbled a couple of times which really hurts on the tile floor. Her most reliable mode of transportation is still scooting. She scoots around on her bum, everywhere!!! My sister, Tina, did that when she was a baby too. I have never seen another baby do that before. It is quite a trip! She does crawl when she wants to get somewhere fast that might be a little further away. Lorelai LOVES her sister. She wants to play with Caroline all the time. She is a little less impressed with her brother. She does not like Hilton to be around her at all. She gets mad when he just comes near her. Bless his heart, he tries so hard to love on her and she is just having none of it. She must remember how he treated her when she was born... Lorelai loves to read books. She will sit still for any story and loves to chew on the board books. She is totally uninterested in television. Except the Tony Awards. She was fascinated by the musical numbers!!! She loves to dance to showtunes and "sings" along at the top of her voice. But she won't do that to just any music. She is very picky. She is her father's daughter. Lorelai has started to fold her arms at family prayer! Thurs night Justin just said, Lorelai, fold your arms we are going to say the prayer. And she did it! We never specifically taught her that! She has just learned from example, I guess. I keep forgetting that she is growing up. Because she is my last one, I want to keep her little as long as I can. But she is growing up all by herself despite my efforts to keep her small and helpless. She is eating all kinds of new foods. She chews really well and can eat almost all the things we eat now. She prefers to feed herself and we let her. This means lots of baths, but she really does a good job. She has a very healthy appetite. Of all of my kids, she definitely eats the most. And she is the smallest! She is very short, she is not even on the chart for her height and weight, but she is just petite. And very adorable. She brings me so much joy. She brings all of us joy. We cannot imagine life without her. We are so grateful to have had this sweet spirit in our family for a year now! Happy Birthday Lorelai!!!

Wow! She has changed so much and is getting so big! And, all that hair. She is a cutie and sounds like tons of fun. Isn't it great how these little sisters adore their big sisters? It's such a fun relationship to witness.

She is adorable!!! She really reminds me of you as a baby. I'm so glad you have enjoyed her so much as a baby well as your other 2 fantastic children.

I love the way you write a little something about each of the children on their birthdays. It's so special and will be a treasure as they get older.

Luv, Mom
