No Pictures today
I have come to confess. I am just plain lazy. I don't feel like dragging out the camera, hooking it up to the computer, downloading the pictures onto my computer and THEN downloading them onto Blogger. It is just a hassle. That is why I have not been great about posting lately. Because of my friends' blogs, I feel the need to have illustration with each post. There is no need for that! Does the New Yorker have a picture or photo with every story? NO! Does the Wall Street Journal? NO! So why do I feel so compelled to make sure that each and every post has a picture or photo to go with it? It is simply peer pressure. I am trying to keep up with the "Jones's" This is the new front lawn, people! Blogging involves severe pressure for those who pursue it. First, you have to make sure that your page is cute... Hence the logo in the upper-left hand corner. Without this website, I would have the ugliest blog on the block because I have no idea how to speak computer. Second, You have to include precious pictures of your children on your blog, please refer to the right of your page. Then the content has to be witty and enticing for people to read... usually this involves talking about cleaning up poop or some such horrible thing that previously mentioned precious children have left for you. Or you can talk about some terrible gaff you performed at church in front of the entire congregation like walking to the front to bear your testimony with your skirt tucked in your tights... (this has never happened to me, that is why my blog is so boring.) But usually funny involves your kids because... "it's funny, 'cause it's true!" So, dear friends and family, I have decided to just buck the system. Be original and plain and boring. Oh, I will keep my cute page decorations, but you may not see pictures to accompany my blog entries. Not because I don't take pictures... oh, I take pictures! But simply because I am lazy. Just plain lazy. You are just going to have to read. No illustrations here. When was the last time you sat down and read a picture book? Right? You don't need no stinkin' pictures! You are an adult! Harry Potter doesn't even have pictures... I think you can read my little blog without having pictures every single time. Now, for those of you who read my blog simply to see my children and how much they change, (ie Grandmas's) do not fret. I will still include the occasional photo in my blog. But I am no longer going to give into that peer pressure from the blogger world. My blog does not need pictures to be good.... does it?

Absolutley not! Your wit and wisdom are enough for me! Just let those creative writing juices flow and we'll all be entertained beyond our wildest dreams!
p.s. Speaking of pictures....I cut the picture of the kids out of your Christmas card and put it in a darling frame I have had FOREVER and have not been able to find the right picture for. Thanks!
WOW!!! You really crack me up. I never even thought about these things before. The thing that drives me crazy is when people only blog about how wonderful their lives are when you know behind closed doors it is not all roses! Keep your post real Jenny!!
Here, here! I feel that same pressure. I am neither a witty writer or a mother who likes to share poop stories. :o) I'm with you, although I do love the cute background!
I am with you in the pics. I don't remember to bring my camera half the time. I seriously feel lucky to keep up with the blog, let alone add an additional 20 minutes trying to put pics on! Happy New year!
Oh my goodness!!! How long have you been wrestling with this??? I am glad you have decided to "let the ham go". You don't need any pictures but I am wondering what kind of set up you have that makes uploading photos from your camera so tedious, The whole kit and caboodle takes less than 2 minutes on my computer. You also need to learn to steal things from the internet. That is how you can truly be lazy and I have cornered the market.
