Kintting

One of my favorite hobbies is knitting. I must admit, there are several crafty things that I enjoy, especially working at Michaels where I have access to all of that crafty goodness... but there is something about knitting that makes me especially happy. I think a little has to do with the fact that my mom is so into knitting. It is a passion I share with her. I am still a beginner as I don't have a lot of confidence in my abilities and am afraid to try something new. But a lot has to do with the fact that I am not very patient. I start a project wanting it finished as quickly as possible. I am reading this novel right now called Friday Night Knitting Club and in it she talks about knitting being about patience. I thought that was very interesting and true! I am knitting Justin a scarf right now that has a very tight stitch and it very wide. He chose the pattern. So it is taking forever and I am afraid it will be warm again before I get it done, but it is very theraputic to knit. Especially while I am watching 24! Yesterday I began teaching Caroline to knit. She has been wanting to learn since summer and I just thought she might be too young, but to my great surprise she has really taken to it! She picked up the garter stitch right away and is working on making herself a purse. Knitting is something that is an art that I am so excited to share with my daughter. Yet another reason I know she is growing up... boohoo...

I wish I could knit! I just couldn't "get" it. Anyway, isn't this season of 24 so good??? It makes me a nervous wreck, though. I can't watch it before I go to bed or I can't sleep. It has to be during the day. 2 more until LOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried knitting but it was just another thing that I started and didn't finish! (I am really bad about that) the only thing that I do that is pretty constant is taking pictures.

I tried cross stitching once and couldnt be patient enough for it. it took way too long. I think knitting would be the same for me. You either have it or you dont...and I don't have it. Post a pic of the scarf when you are finished:)

Isn't it so sad how fast they grow up?
