To My Blog Stalkers

Well, for all of you blog stalkers out there, you know who you are, I am sorry I have been neglegent in my writing. It was a very busy week and I just could not seem to get on the computer. So I am taking my normal nap time to blog here today... Yes, I nap. I love to nap. But today I am not feeling especially tired so I am going to skip the nap. I have been on my diet for a little over a week now. It was supposed to be over 2 weeks, but with Gustav and the whole evacuating thing... I didn't get started until we got back. And I will admit I have had some moments of weakness... but my visit to the doctor today has given me some more incentive and I am ready to take this thing head-on. I am not going to deprive myself. If I do that I will be totally unhappy and will find myself failing and not making a lifestyle change. My doctor suggested reading "What Would Jesus Eat?" I was very skepitcal, but I did read it with an open mind and found some interesting things in there! I will try to eat more like Jesus did. But in this day and age, it will be difficult. Unfortunately foods that tend to be good for us also tend to be more expensive. And we are on an extremely limited budget. Ok, limited isn't the word, non-existant is more like it. But I am going to try to do the best I can with what I can. That is all I can do right now. But the good news is that I lost 5 lbs in the short time that I have been doing this diet and that is quite encouraging! I just need to keep on keeping on. Lorelai had surgery on Friday to have tubes put in her ears. I was really glad we did it because they had gotten infected again, and seem to have been infected more times than not. Her ears were full of fluid which may (or may not) have contributed to the fact that she doesn't talk yet. She babbles and seems like she is talking, but no real words come out yet. Not even Mamma... So I am hoping that maybe this will help her to hear a little better and she can start speaking words soon. Hurricane Ike came and went without any damage to our end of things. There were some winds but nothing worse than we would see on a daily basis in Rexburg! The kids were out of school all day Friday just to driv me crazy. We didn't even have any weather to speak of that day! But I guess they would rather be safe than sorry. I would rather have had them in school. The kids aren't used to being in school yet because they keep getting taken out because of Hurricanes. There are no big storms on the horizon so maybe we are done for the season. That is the news from here. I will try to be better about posting this week. If anything exciting happens....

Congrats on the five pounds! That is awesome. I need to get my butt off the couch and lose some myself.

Wow! You have been busy! Way to go with the diet and weight loss. And, I hope that the tubes work out well for Lorelai. I had no idea she was headed for that.
