Happy Birthday Lorelai!
Monday, June 09, 2008
Congrats Cyndi and Melissa!!!
I have 2 cousins who gave birth on June 6th! Cyndi had a baby girl with NO MEDICATION!!! You crazy girl! And Melissa gave birth to her baby boy in her car!!! Luckily her husband is a doctor. I hope he was there to help!!!
Kung Fu Panda and kids
We went to see Kung Fu Panda on Saturday. It was hilarious! But of course, you just can't go wrong with Jack Black. We pretty much can count on it to be funny if Jack Black is involved. Lorelai was uninterested and just fell asleep, but the big kids loved it too. It is really so hot here, that the only thing to do is go somewhere with air conditioning.
Lorelai has begun crawling!!! I mean she was kinda doing it before, but now she can really get places fast and has discovered it is a much more efficient way to travel than the scooting on her bum thing that she was doing. She has not abandoned that all together, but when she wants to get somewhere fast, like to one of Hilton's toys, (B/C her toys are boring and childish) she just crawls. I don't think I am ready for this. I want her to stay little! I want her to stay a baby. She is my last baby and I will miss all the baby stuff... She does have a very interesting way of communicating. She shouts... She just screams really loud when she wants anything. When she is happy, when she is sad, when she is frustrated.
Caroline is reading like crazy! She is reading a book a day. I told her it is time to move on to more difficult books. She is reading Junie B. Jones. She is convinced that there will be nothing that is as funny as these books... but I told her that we could find some that are just as funny, but more reading-level appropriate. She is still very young, so she is not ready for boys and girls relationship stuff... but I am sure we can find something that is a little more challenging that is still funny.
Hilton has a loose tooth!!! It is his first. He really wants it to come out, but it hurts, so he won't let Papa pull it out. Poor kid. He said he doesn't care if the Tooth Fairy leaves money, he wants to keep the tooth. Caroline told him to leave a note for the Tooth Fairy and she will leave the tooth and some money. Kids these days have it all figured out!

Conspiracy Theory
I think there is a conspiracy against me. I think all cereal makers and fast food places are out to make my life more difficult. They find it imperitive to put these silly little toys in the boxes or kids' meals and the kids want them so badly. And what happens? They end up on the floor and I just throw them away. Then, 3 months later, the kids ask where they are. Good grief, am I really supposed to keep all those stupid toys? Whoever thought this would be a good idea should be shot. I blame the Cracker Jacks people. I think they were probably the first to think of it. I would like to propose a bill for the Senate to ban all tiny toys that go in cereal boxes and kids' meals.. think it'll fly?

The Host cont...
A book by Stephenie Meyer. It is a sci fi type book. Stephenie Meyer is an author who is LDS, but does not write LDS fiction. It is just very clean and good fun. There is nothing intellectual about her stuff, but they are good stories. She has also written a series of books about vampires, Twilight, New Moon and umm, I can't remember the other one.
my hair
I hold in my hand a perfect spiral piece of hair. I look at it and wish all of my hairs looked like this one hair. Instead I have some straight hairs and some just wavy hairs. Mostly frizzy hairs. When I was in Utah my sister-in-law, Jenny, got a hair cut and it looked so cute. I wanted to cut my hair so badly... but it would just not look good. I have resolved that my hair just needs to be long. It is way too poofy and curly and generally crazy to keep short. So I will continue to have long hair and just have to put it up in a bun everyday while it is hot so that my neck and back don't drip with sweat...

I'm Back!
It has been such a long 3 months. I am very happy to be home but part of me is sad to have left Utah. I will miss the beautiful mountains so much. I will also miss my Mother-in-Law and Sister-in-Law, Jenny. But it is so nice to be home in my own house, in my own bed, and with my husband. So much has happened in the last while that I really am at a loss as to what to write about. I really need to get back into the swing of things. Lorelai has started to crawl! She kind of scoots accross the floor on her bottom and has now combined that with a kind of a crawl. She got another tooth on the bottom, so she now has 3 teeth. She is enjoying eating all kinds of new things. Last night we had a cold pasta salad that she loved. And I gave her some pear chunks. She loved that too. She hasn't had chunks before. Just sauce. I also discovered Facebook today. I found some old high school friends. That is a pretty cool thing. What did we ever do without the internet? Anyway, I am sure that as the summer begins to unfold I will have many adventures to report. I do have to download some pictures from the last 3 months... but I will have to get to that another time. Until then... this is me signing off... I am glad to be back!!!
