Week Two: Complete

So I have completed week two. I am not impressed at all with the results. When all is said and done I have lost 6 lbs. About half what is expected. But it is better than a kick in the head, right? I don't know if the South Beach Diet is right for me. But I am going to continue to eat the same way with some adjustments... I am going to eat fruit, and some whole grains once in a while. If I eat 2 fruits a day, I think that will be ok. And if I continue to keep refined sugar and carbs out of my diet, I should do alright. And this week I need to start exercising. I really don't know how I am going to do that with the heat the way it is. It is scorching hot at 6:30am! But I will find a way. I really am thrilled with how well I have kept to this diet these last 2 weeks. I cheated only a teeny tiny bit when I went out to dinner with Vicki to Zea on Friday and I had a couple of slivers of carrots and a couple of Chinese noodles that were on my salad. I didn't eat all of them, not even a lot of them, but I did have some. I went to the doctor on Thursday. The doctor wanted to remove a very questionable mole.(I will hear back sometime next week about that.) Anyway, she had no idea why I have not had more success on this diet. She agreed that I should have lost a lot more weight... on Thurs the scales showed no weight loss. And thought that really there is no point on being on it if I don't have any success. But I really think she didn't believe that I had been sticking to it. I don't blame her. When a girl that looks like me comes in and tells her that I haven't cheated on a diet and I also haven't had any results... I don't think I would believe me either! But I am not going to worry about more tests right now. Maybe in a couple of months...

South Beach Diet (the first 2 weeks) is just like Adkins I think....no carbs at all right??? Have you been eating enough protein? That was the key for me, eating enough of the non-carb stuff. I always loose 10-15 pounds the first 2 weeks of adkins...Do you know if you went into Keetosis? Have you lost all your cravings for food? By week 2 I am not hungry at all. It sounds to me like the no carb thing may not be the way for you to go. I am so proud of you for sticking to it, though...the first 2 weeks is always the hardest!

Actually 6 pounds in two weeks is phenomenal. I know people want these big losses but it stresses the body out and then you go a couple of weeks without losing any. Always weigh on the same scale. The doctors scale is never the same as mine. If you are losing consistently on yours, the next time you go in to your doctor you will see the loss on that one even if it weighs you a couple of pounds heavier. The big thing is not to get discouraged and stop. If this doesn't work for you after a couple of months then try something else but stick to this and if you even see a loss of 1 pound a week you should stick to it. 1 pound a week is actually really good. I know you want it to come off faster but 1 pound/week is good.

I feel your pain. I have been doing my thing for three weeks tomorrow and I feel like it has been six months... Shouldn't I be to my goal weight by now?

I have been walking while my kids are in swim team (10-11am) I count it for double than I actually do because of the heat. I figure I have to be sweating at least two pounds/per mile.
