Caroline turned 9 last Thursday and we had her birthday party on Saturday. We did a Princess Diaries Party. The girls got makeovers with makeup and nail polish, then they each decorated their own crown and goodie bag. They ate cookies and drank punch from plastic Stemware glasses. Then they had a "fashion show" where they each walked through the streamers that we had pinned up in the hallway doorway. They had sunglasses, feather boas and most important, attitude! Those girls know how to work it!
Caroline is a wonderful 9 year old. She has grown up so much in the last year. She has more responsibility so she gets an allowance now. She empties the dishwasher and makes her bed and makes sure to keep her room clean. I am very impressed with how tidy she is! Caroline loves to draw. She loves to draw her own fashions and create her own looks. She always has a pencil and pad in her hands, or a book. She is quite a reader! She loves funny books. She loves to tell jokes. She gets a lot of satisfaction out of telling us a joke and having us genuinely laugh! Caroline works very hard on her Faith In God and is ahead of a lot of the girls in Activity Days. Caroline is a smart girl. She got straight A's this 9 weeks and made the Principal's list! Caroline has great faith. She knows that her prayers will be answered. When her Grandfather died this year, she was great at giving me comfort because she has no doubt she will see him again. Caroline is petite little girl. She is in a size 7, a little on the short side, and she is VERY slender. She is a little embarrassed about this because she always has to wear a belt, even with slim clothes. She doesn't know how good she has it. I try to tell her that it is not important how slender or plump she is, just that she is comfortable and healthy. I worry that now she is getting into the Tween stage she will start being concerned with things like that.
Caroline likes Hannah Montana, High School Musical, and other tween-related things. She loves to listen to her iPod. She has Wicked and You're a Good Man Charlie Brown on her iPod in addition to Hannah Montana and High School Musical. For Halloween, Caroline wants to be a Frankenstein Princess. She asked me if I had ever heard of that before and I said no, she said that is why she wants to be that because it is original. Caroline is beautiful, inside and out. She brings joy to this house. She is beginning to turn into a young woman... but she will always be my little girl.

WOW! How could it be possible that she is 9?!? Well, I'm telling you right now that I have no doubt in my mind that the girl gets that inside/outside beauty from her Mom! CONGRATULATIONS! Miss you!
