Difficult
I don't know if I will be posting for a while. We are leaving for Utah on Monday. Justin will just stay for the week and come back.
But the kids and I are going to stay for a while, probably a couple of months. On Monday Justin's dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He has not gotten a prognosis yet because he has yet to see the encologist, but as you may know, pancreatic cancer is one of the most devastating forms of cancer. So I am going out there with the kids to help them out for a while. He will start chemo-therapy right away so Donna is going to need some assistance. Plus they love the children and asked that they be around. So we are going to pull Caroline and Hilton out of school and enroll Caroline there for the last couple months. We haven't told her this yet. I think she might be upset... but it is only for a couple of months. Justin wishes he could be there too, but that isn't possible. And he is teaching this summer so he can't stay during the summer either. But we are just going to see what happens. Ron was supposed to see the encologist yesterday, but he was in surgery for a lot longer than they anticipated. He is severely jaundiced and needed to get a shunt put in to drain the jaundice. So he can't see the encologist until tomorrow. Meanwhile we just have to wait and hope for the best. But Ron is prepared to fight hard, so we are encouraged! Please keep him and our family in your prayers and thoughts. It is going to be a difficult time for us all.

Lazy Boy
This post is not about my husband or son or even any other man I know... it is about a chair. A chair we bought a couple of years ago. It was very inexpensive and very comfortable. I used it a lot during my pregnancy and post partum. It is great for nursing babies and taking naps. But last night I became very intimate with said chair. Lorelai and I slept there almost all night. I got sleep, but not the type of quality sleep I prefer. The night before last I got 3 hours of sleep. That is a total... Last night, I really couldn't tell you how much or how little I got. I wanted to take a nap yesterday to make up for the missed sleep... but with 3 sick kids at home, that was impossible. So last night I was especially tired. So I gave in and just slept on the chair all night. I held the baby in my arms and slept. I took all three kids to the doctor yesterday and you should see the arsenal of medications we are armed with. Each child has at least 2 they have to take. Caroline is inflicted with a sinus infection. She missed the whole week of school including the big field trip yesterday which does not make her an especially happy girl. Hilton has an ear infection and bromchitis which is complicated by his asthma. His fever started yesterday and he sounds like he is coughing up a lung. Lorelai has an ear infection, bronchitis and RSV. I know, that kid is NEVER healthy. Poor baby keeps throwing up from coughing so hard! And she is so miserable she can't sleep for more than half an hour at a time. At 3:30 in the morning I growled because Lorelai had woken up once again and Justin said, "Don't get frustrated Honey..." And I said, crying, "But I am so tired!" To which he replied, "I know, me too..." I wanted to scream at him. Because for all the wonderful help he is around the house during the day, he is useless at night. He loves his sleep and will do anything to avoid losing any. He will get up with one of the big kids if they have a bad dream... but he usually gets really angry so i just take care of it... he has no patience in the middle of the night. And then, he sleeps in. As I am writing this at 11am, he is still sleeping... he is a night owl. He stays up late. Especially when he has a play like right now. So I am stuck getting up with the kids in the morning and giving them breakfast and holding the baby all morning because she doesn't feel well and not getting a nap again to day because Justin has a matinee and an evening show. But it will all be over tomorrow... The play will end and I will once again have my helpful husband... and not just the Lazy
boy to comfort me.

American Idol (Because my opinion counts)
I am pleased with the outcome on American Idol last night. I knew the 3 that were in the bottom 3 were going to be there. My favorites are still in the running. I have several favorites. I love the two Mormons. I think just because there are not a lot of Mormons here in the "mission field" and I miss being surrounded by everyone who has your same beliefs. But I also think they can sing... but most Mormon's can, don't you think? Also, dread lock kid... he is just too cute for words. Australian Guy... (I have GOT to stop drooling!) He is just a hotty and I love his rocker style. Wierd hair kid, he looks like his hair is thinning, but I love his singing. That rough voice is awesome. I am going with the guys this year. And I am really excited that they are doing more Lennon McCartney songs next week! That is so fun! I love to see the spin they put on them.

Bouncing off the Walls!
The kids are home from school today. Every one of us has a stuffy/runny nose, cough and sore throat. I am very depressed because I really need them to not be home today. It is only 10:30 am and they are already driving me crazy!!!!!! What am I going to do this summer! I will just go insane! They are not sick enough to be lethargic... so they are just fighting and unhappy and coughing and miserable, but at full strength so they are also bouncing off the walls. They went to bed at 7pm last night so they got a good night's rest, and now they are ready to go. So what am I gonna do? I want to put them in front of the tv all day, but they never sit in front of the tv long enough to watch one program let alone a whole days worth. Check back tomorrow to make sure I have not killed them or at least tied them up...

I need a job!
I have to find a job. The babysitting job I was hoping for fell through and I am now going to have to look out of the home. Babysitting Vicki's kids is still great, and helpful, but just not enough to get us by every month. So here I go. I wish I could find something I could do from home. I just can't seem to get a break. Any ideas?

baby
Well, I love the Doctor but I just couldn't wait any longer to be seen. We were in the waiting room for 2 hours and I had to go. So we still don't know what the deal is with Lorelai, but the fever is gradually going down day by day and being totally controlled by Motrin and Tylenol, so we will just wait and see what happens over the next few days.

Dr. Bruno
he is the BEST pediatrician EVER! He was concerned since I took Lorelai to the ER. He wanted to know if anything had changed and called to see how she was doing. he wants to see her again tomorrow. Have you ever had a doctor call YOU!!!??? So I am bringing her in again tomorrow and hopefully he will see what is going on. I just love this guy, he walks on water...
Fever
Lorelai woke up from her nap at 1pm on Friday with a fever of 103. I called the doctor. She had woken Sunday morning with unexplainable bruises all over her body on Sunday so we went to the pediatrician on Tues. He said he thought it could be from a virus. Well when she woke with the fever on Friday, I was concerned. He could not find anything wrong. He did take blood on Tues and ran tests that all came out fine... Her fever crept up and up all weekend. Sat night it was 105.5 under her arm! I gave her Motrin and took her to the Emergency room. Vicki came over to sit with the kids while they slept. When I got to the ER the nurse told me it would be at least a 4 hour wait, and at 11pm they would go down to just one doctor so it might be even longer. And when he took her temp it had gone down to 99, so I just left. I gave her Motrin and stayed up with her all night. Justin got home on Sunday afternoon and I took a nap, then her fever went right up again! Duane came over at 8:30 and he and Justin gave her a blessing. I gave her Motrin at 12:30 when she woke up last night and when she woke up this morning she was as cool as a cucumber! I thought, yes, her fever broke! So I went to the Dr. Suess Green Eggs and Ham breakfast at Hilton's school as planned. But now her fever is back up again. I haven't taken it, but she feels hot to me... This is just ridiculous! What is it with my kids and mysterious fevers???
