Whatcha doin'?

Justin is coming out on wednesday. We are not sure how long he will be here. My father-in-law is a fighter, but this is one tough battle! We are praying for a miracle. He would really love to go on his trip to Oregon in June. We are just really trying to keep high spirits. I try to make him laugh every day. A few days ago he had some people come over to visit and they asked a very inappropriate question. Dad got sick and started throwing up. They left and I told him that was one way to get rid of unwanted guests! He laughed. People are bringing lots of plants and food and it is a little overwhelming for my mother-in-law. I told her we should put a note on the door saying, "please, no more plants or food, just give us money." he got quite a kick out of that too. I am glad I can at least give him a little bit of comfort. I am also the official caller. For some reason these Bates people don't like to make phone calls, so I am the one who calls about everything, from cell-phone bills to doctor questions. I have been cleaning the bathrooms since all three of the kids have the stomach flu!!! It has been horrible. I am either holding a head or wiping a bottom. Poor babies. Right now I am out to get a book at the library and pick up slurpies for everyone. Ron (my Father-in-law) can't keep much down and things that are cold like slurpies and sherbet are what seems to go down (and come back up) easier. I fell down the stairs on Saturday and killed my back. It is burning! So I am not able to vacuum, but I am trying to do what I can. My parents came up on Saturday and visited. We went to the air force museum which Hilton loved! He loved all the huge airplanes. Then we went to the mall for a bit and then on to my brother, Rich's house for a bar-b-que. He makes the best burgers!!!! The kids loved playing with their little 2 yr old cousin, Elizabeth. And I loved catching up with Rich and Ginny. She is pregnant with a little boy and I was able to see her cute little pregnant self! They entertained us even though they are moving this weekend!!! Anyway, I am keeping busy, but am still totally bored. But it will be good to see Justin. I miss him terribly.

Sounds like you are keeping busy with everything. I have to say, I totally remember your sense of humor from the college days and I bet you keep your father-in-law in good spirits! Hang in there!
