Boring bed rest...

I had some cramping last week and was put on bed rest for a few days. Then I was ill all day yesterday, couldn't eat a thing... and I was bored, in bed. Feeling a little better today, cramping still present but not as bad. But have to buy food as our cupboards are bare... Or at least my husband and children would have you think so. Justin has been cleaning and doing all manner of taking care of the children while I lay down and incubate, he is a gem. But I am bored out of my mind. So today I will get some food into the house. Justin's parents are coming this weekend for Hilton's 4th birthday, so that will be nice. Maybe she can cook. I am still taking it very easy. I am so worried about this little thing inside of me. But I heard the heart beat when I went in on Friday and am feeling it move a lot since I am always horizontal. And they checked my cervix and all manner of pregnancy things and all seems to be fine. It is just me, apparently and my neurotic tendencies, I guess. But pain is pain... it is still scary! Anyway, that is why I haven't answered emails or blogged for a while. pregnancy

I still hate pregnancy

Just so we are clear, I still hate pregnancy. Today the morning sickness is back and I feel very yucky. It is not fair. But in the end it will be worth it... right? pregnancy

Croup again?

Hilton is sick, again. He has some kind of coughing thing. I was pretty sure it was croup again the other night. He has the typical symptoms, but today he is coughing uncontrolably. He will not stop coughing! And in the past, when he has had croup, he doesn't cough much during the day. I called the doctor and of course he can't see him until next week. And what is the point of that, exactly? Anyway, I am trying to keep him calm and watching tv, but he keeps playing star wars and jumping and running around. I just don't know what to do with the boy. pregnancy

I don't wanna clean the bathroom

I have felt pretty good for 4 days now. I have actually been able to eat! Food is actually tasting good! It is a very nice feeling. I did have a bad morning at church. It seems that when the sacrament is being passed is when I tend to have to be sick. So I had to leave the second after I took the water. The person passing the water is our home teacher and when I got up to leave he got out of the way quickly. Thank you, Bro. Pyper. He knows what kind of boat I have been in lately... But I was ok for the rest of the day. I had a long nap yesterday. And went to bed at 9:30 last night. Justin asked, "Are you seriously tired? You just slept all afternoon!" He obviously has never gestated a child inside of his own body. If he had, he would not have asked that question. So today I have to clean the bathrooms. I haven't cleaned the toilets in over a week because I haven't needed to, like before! And Justin pleaded with me. So I will indulge him. I also agreed to help with Caroline's opera at school (Before I was pregnant!) and there is a meeting today. I am supposed to do the staging. I don't think I have to do that until next week... I still haven't gone back to water aerobics, I struggle to wake by 8am to get Caroline off to school. But I am determined to do it. I have been feeling the baby move, mostly when I am trying to go to sleep. My regular clothes do not fit at all anymore. I am always wearing maternity pants... And my belly feels very uncomfortable. I just cannot believe I still have so many months to go and my belly will only get bigger. THis is insane. Who was the one who decided that the way babies should be born was to put them INSIDE of a WOMAN!? I really would like to know. Because it doesn't seem really logical to me. And... wasn't there a way to do it that would not be so uncomfortable? Women who love pregnancy and think it is a pleasurable experience must be delusional. I cannot think of any other reason they would like to have their belly stretched to it's largest possible capacity, and then take years to go back down again, if it ever does. But, I am grateful for a baby coming. I cannot wait for this spirit to come into our family. I just don't enjoy the time before. I was determined to enjoy every bit of this pregnancy since it will be my last. But it is hard to do when you are so miserable. Ok, I have ranted. I have got to go clean those bathrooms, I have stalled enough... pregnancy

No news

I guess I need to post again. I have not been very good at keeping up on my blog lately. Let's see, what is going on. Well, I go from the bed, to the couch, to the kitchen, to the kitchen, to the couch, to the bed... My life is hum drum and boring. I am not a good pregnant person. It is a good thing this will be my last baby. My stomach is hard when I eat, and that is very uncomfortable. But at least I am eating. My life is just made up of being pregnant. I am obsessed with being pregnant. This is the first time I have been pregnant and not had a full-time job. It is good, because I really sleep a lot. I could not possibly work. Anyway... I am a very boring person. I have nothing exciting to report. Justin still does not have a job after July. That has been our focus. He has sent out dozens of applications. We just have to have faith that Heavenly Father has a plan for us, and we will be able to take care of the family... Anyway, that is all the news for now. I will blog when something else happens. pregnancy

Eureka!

Well the medication works. I have not gotten sick for 3 days. Which is some kind of record! The down side is that it makes me very sleepy. I am literally sleeping about 17 hours a day. It feels like 24 hours! I do not accomplish much at all when I am awake because I feel kind of drunk. But I am not sick. I can eat. I still don't have much of an appetite, nothing sounds particularly good. But at least I know when I do eat something, it will stay down. I will go grocery shopping today and maybe find some things that sound good to eat. I am over my veggie sub phase. Not even a Big Mac and fries can tempt me. But this is good. I am not gaining a ton of weight in this pregnancy, and that is my goal, to weigh the same going out as I did going in. But I still have a long way to go. I will just do my best and not go crazy! Today the kids are home from school. Apparently it is too cold to go to school. It is -20 with a windchill of -40, and they cancelled school. We made Caroline bundle up into two coats to go to school and they ended up sending her home. Oh well. I guess the kids will be making forts all day... inside... pregnancy

Doctor visit

So I went to the doctor today and there discovered that I have lost 4 more lbs, much to the dismay of my doctor (and secret pleasure to me!) I know I should NOT be losing weight, but being the large gal that I am, I figure it can't hurt to lose a couple. And believe me, I am NOT trying to lose. I am eating. I just can't eat much and when I do, it doesn't like to get digested. It would much rather escape my stomach exactly the way it went in. But anyway, she said to eat more and throw up less... and gave me a prescription. That is very good. I would much rather not feel sick all the time. I would like to say that this ticker is a week off and I don't know how to fix it. I am 15 weeks, not 14. And my ultrasound is for 5 weeks from today. The moment of truth when we find out what flavor this baby is! The kids will be there and Justin will be there! I am excited!!! Anyway, that is the news from the doc. I am going to go lie down... pregnancy

Back from the dead? not quite...

I am finally going to post while I feel ok and I have a few moments before FHE. My life has been filled with worshiping the toilet and making sure it smells only of Clorox. But Justin did all the laundry for me this weekend so I got all of it folded today while I watched my new Pride and Prejudice DVD that he got me for CHristmas. It is the long A&E version with Collin Firth (drool...) and I LOVE IT! I went through the kids' clothes and boxed up some that are too little. That was all I got to today. I have managed to find something I can eat. A veggie sub from Subway. It is for some crazy reason the most wonderful food on earth to me right now. I decided not to take classes this semester. After not being able to take my head out of the ... head on Wed I thought, how and I ever going to take a class? I would have to bring a bucket with me! And I don't think my professor would be very happy about that. Anyway, on saturday at my Primary Presidency meeting I KNEW I had made the right choice. I have so much to do with this calling. I had kind of forgotten during my Christmas break. Anyway, I have to do a Primary Inservice on Sunday, we have Priesthood Preview this month, Baptism preview next month, and the quarterly activity in March. Not to mention all of the lists I have to update. Too much! Anyway, I am sure I would not have been called if I couldn't accomplish it. Right? Meanwhile, I am going to go do FHE and tomorrow I have to get H's haircut, my haircut and go to my monthly doc appt. Wed, I am watching the rest of P&P... do wait for me, Mr. Darcy!!!! pregnancyI

Our New Year's Day

Yesterday, we promised the kids we would do something fun since I have not been much fun for the past few, okay, 7 days. So we took the kids to see Night In the Museum which was totally fun. The kids loved it. Caroline saw it with her cousins in Ohio but didn't mind going again. After that, we went to Walgreens to pick up my prescriptions (YEA!) and to buy batteries for all of the toys that H got for Christmas. I think every single one of them required AA's. But it was nice. I made wonderful shrimp cocktail for dinner and we drank sparkling cider to toast the new year. And we all played Justin's new Ms.Pacman game. The kids loved it, but not as much as Justin! I have not figured out how to post the pics from my camera yet... it is so fancy. But I will work on it and do it ASAP! pregnancy

Finally Home

We are home. Thank goodness. We got back to our house on Saturday. We are all sick with colds. We were supposed to go to my grandmother's memorial on Saturday, but I couldn't make it down to St George. I was so sick. Not only from this nasty cold, but the plane ride on Thurs night was terrible. The turbulance was unbearable. There were people puking all over the plane. Luckily I made it out of the plane just in time. I thought I was going to have to use a trash can, but the bathroom was right there. Hilton slept a lot of the ride. But he was so sad. We almost missed our connecting flight in Minneapolis and somehow lost his Build A Bear Giraffe, Ernie. He was and still is devastated. There is not a Build A Bear nearby... We finnally opened our Christmas presents here, at home yesterday. The kids forgot all about their woes. It was great. We all stayed in our pajamas all day long yesterday. Even Justin. I was very happy to do it. I slept most of the day. Today we will be getting ready for school to start again. I start classes on Thursday. So wish me luck! pregnancy
