Christmas!!!!!

We had a lovely Christmas. Christmas Eve was pretty bad. I was so sick all day. I was determined to go to church, but after throwing up all of breakfast and lunch, I decided to stay home. The rest of the day consisted of me lying on the couch. The Wests(Justin's sister and brother in law) have a tradition. For Christmas Eve dinner, they eat things that Jesus might have eaten. So we had Lamb, and couscous, hummus, pita, olives, stuffed grape leaves, shrimp cocktail (because we all know how much they loved shrimp cocktail back then... haha) and my contribution was stuffed mushrooms, which is not at all what He might have eaten, but that's ok. It was good. I couldn't really eat any of it, but I am sure it would have tasted good, had I easten it. Then we read The Living Christ and talked about the meaning of Christmas. Then the kids got new jammies and went to bed. Then the adults finnished wrapping gifts. It is the first time I have ever had to wrap gifts on Christmas Eve! But it has been a rough season. I am not as on the ball as usual. Christmas morning we woke up at about 8:30... I do not know how we managed that! And opened presents. My kids didn't have much, just a couple of small things from Santa and the main Santa gift. But they didn't seem to mind. Because they knew that when we get home we are going to have a whole nother Christmas! Justin got me the most amazing gift in the world! I must say, he did very well, but spent way too much. He got me a really fancy digital camera. It takes pictures and film. And not just 3 seconds of film! It is way too fancy for me. But I have figured it out pretty quickly and it is going to be so great to be able to download pictures onto my blog whenever I want to. I really wanted one before the baby came... I just didn't expect it so soon! I felt so bad b/c he told me not to bring any of his presents so I just brought his stocking stuffers, socks, candy and a Barnes and Noble gift card... But oh well. I got him some great stuff at home. For dinner yesterday we had turkey, which was delicious. I tried to eat a little of everything, but it was difficult. No fear of me gaining weight over these holidays, I guess. Which is GREAT! Then in the afternoon we went to see Charlotte's Web. Caroline just finnished the book and absolutely loved it, and I must confess, I loved it too!!! It was so cute. Even Hilton sat still long enough to enjoy it. The bigger teenage boys were not as excited but I think we are going to see Night in the Museum later this week, so that will make them happy. It was a beautiful Holiday. It has been so nice to be here and spend time in this beautiful home. ANd in GORGEOUS Ohio!!! I LOVE it here! I would love to live here! Although it is quite rainy, which they say is quite unusual for this time of year, I guess. It is usually very snowy. (Which I prefer.) When Hilton woke up yesterday, I said, "Do you know what today is?" He said, "Nooo..." I said, "It's Christmas!!!" He looked outside and then looked at me and said, "Mom, it is not Christmas! There's no snow!" Poor kid. Poor me. I wanted snow for Christmas too. Instead we got cold rain. Oh well. I can't wait to go home. But we still have almost another week. We leave to Utah on Thursday, and then go to St George on Friday. For my Grandmother's memorial. Then it is back up to Ogden on Saturday and home on Sunday. It is going to be a very long weekend. I hope I can make it. Especially with the way this kid is making me feel. But I am sure it is going to be nice to see all my family. It is just going to be hard. Anyway, until my next rant.... pregnancy
